Aim

London Muslim Forum aims to:

  1. Unite the Mosques of London on key issues by creating a communication channel between them, allowing them to meet together and network amongst themselves
  2. Assist and develop the Mosques to be central hubs for the Muslim Community and a source of information and dialogue with the wider society, by sharing best practices
  3. To focus on the points that we agree upon and defer those points that we do not agree upon for private conversations

Objectives

The objectives of the London Muslim Forum is to:

  1. Act as a unified voice for Muslim issues based upon the principle of Shura
  2. Promote and support the interests of Muslims within the London area with those in power to affect change
  3. Counter attempts to disunite the Muslims on cultural, racial, nationalist or sectarian grounds.
  4. Work with the wider non-Muslim community to harmonise relationships

Framework

The London Muslim Forum is totally independent.

  1. The Forum will meet bimonthly and as required by work programme.
  2. The LMF members will nominate and provide relevant representation on strategic committees and other planning groups to offer input. The members will provide feedback to the Forum whenever necessary.
  3. The Forum will be responsible for nominating representatives to sit on external groups, should the situation arise.
